Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent, on April 13, hosted the first Uzbek-Indian health forum, Dunyo reports. Chaired by Uzbekistan's embassy in New Delhi, the event aims to strengthen collaboration in the healthcare system, establish partnerships with new companies and attract foreign investments in the field.
Reportedly, a delegation of over 100 people arrived in the Central Asian Republic, comprising the representatives of clinics, universities, and pharmaceutical companies.
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, and officials of the Ministry of Ayush ('Folk Medicine') participate in the forum virtually.
Uzbekistan and India have been cooperating in healthcare for several years. As a result, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in traditional medicine and homeopathy in 2019.
In addition, Uzbekistan and India have been working together to combat COVID-19.
Besides, a branch of the Bukhara State Medical Institute has been opened in India, and clinics of medical institutions such as "Aakash Healthcare," "Pratiksha," "Apollo," and "Medanta" have been established in the Central Asian Republic. In addition, more than 4,000 young people from India study at higher medical schools in Uzbekistan.
Overall, Uzbekistan and India have a strong partnership in the healthcare field, and they continue to work together to improve the health and well-being of their citizens.
