President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is currently participating in the session of the Regional Council of People's Deputies in Syrdarya, "Daryo" reporter informs.
The head of state emphasized in his speech at the session that Sirdarya needs to be transformed into an "area of advanced innovations" in industry, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, and medicine.
"In the innovative region, governors, regional and district leaders should strive for innovation every day to create conditions for residents and entrepreneurs, change their outlook and approaches," said the head of state.
The president noted that a lot of thought has been given to bringing the experience of which country to turn the region into an innovative region.
"We must admit that China has made unprecedented progress in industry, agriculture, education, and medicine in recent years. China has great experience in science, innovation, engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, and IT. Most importantly, China is one of the largest markets closest to us in terms of transport and logistics.
Chinese investors are also very interested in the region. In the last six years, more than 60 large industrial enterprises have started working in Shirin City, Mirzaabad, and Sirdarya districts together with Chinese investors. More than $250mn of Chinese investments have been attracted to the region in 2022 alone. This is almost 90% of the region's investment.
Therefore, we should rely on China's experience in the development of all areas in Syrdarya," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
