The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Uzbekistan held a regular session on the groundwork for the referendum on the draft law on amendments to the Constitution, Dunyo reports. In particular, the meeting discussed the creation of referendum sites at diplomatic and other representations of Uzbekistan abroad.
According to legislation, a decision was made to create fifty-five referendum sites at the diplomatic and other representations of Uzbekistan in foreign countries with their assignment to the fourteenth Tashkent city referendum district.
Reportedly, international observers, international organizations, and media representatives have the right to participate in all activities related to the preparation and conduct of the referendum under the CEC accreditation.
At the meeting, based on the presentation of the Foreign Ministry, a decision was made to accredit observers from the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to participate in the referendum on the draft Constitution on April 30.
