March 17. Fasikhiddin Dadamuhammedov, goldsmith, the national craftsman of Uzbekistan, held a master class at the State Museum of the History of the Timurids in Tashkent, Daryo reports.
Fasikhiddin Dadamuhammedov (1953) is a jeweller, and People's Master of Uzbekistan. Dadamuhamedov could restore the national style of jewellery, harmonise and develop its traditions, and created items in mesh, linen, mould, and printing methods: "Bozband", "Panjara Amulet", "Three Jugs" consisting of beads, rings, bracelets, etc. jewellery such assets, tilakosh, zebigardon, ring, earrings; widely uses floral motifs in the decoration of items; some of those are kept in museums and private collections in foreign countries (USA, England, France, Israel, Russia, Poland).
The prolific master presented several examples of his works including two unique rings made by Fasikhiddin Dadamuhammedov – Hermitage copies of Miran Shah Beg Gawhar Shad’s ring-seals.
The goldsmith says there that it has historical importance. Moreover, the replica makes it possible to eyewitness the precious pieces without going to the Hermitage,
“We have been thinking of studying our national art of jewellery first, and then moving on to modern art. How can we look into the future if we don't know history?!,” concludes Dadamuhammedov.
