Uzbekistan hockey team became a champion of the Asian and Oceanian Championship for national teams under 18 years of age in Mongolia.
The tournament was held on March 15 the capital of Mongolia Ulaanbaatar. The U18 national team of Uzbekistan won five victories in five matches and the championship title.
The youth of Uzbekistan defeated the teams of Turkmenistan (5:0), Iran (14:1), Mongolia (7:4), Thailand (10:2), and UAE (8:1). Jasurbek Rustamkhonov, the captain of the Uzbekistan national team, led the game against scorers. By the end of five games, he scored 26 points (14 goals and 12 assists).
It was during the championship in Mongolia that Joel Hansson, head of the referee development department of the IIHF, handed Yermakov's license to Vladislav Kiselev, the head of the UIHF (Tashkent hockey club) referee department. Sergey Yermakov and David Prokofiev are graduates of the UIHF Referee School headed by Vladislav Kiselev.
