The consulting firm Henley Passport has ranked Turkmenistan 92nd in international passport rankings for the beginning of 2023.
The rest of the Central Asian countries are ranked slightly higher. Kazakhstan is in 70th place, Kyrgyzstan is in 82nd, and Tajikistan and Uzbekistan occupy 85th place.
Japan traditionally holds the top spot in the world ranking, followed by Afghanistan in 108th place. Citizens of the former have visa privileges in 193 countries, and the latter in only 27 countries.
Reportedly, Turkmenistan withdrew from the visa-free agreement with CIS countries in 1999.
