The Central Bank of Uzbekistan emptied its gold vaults by 11.5 tons becoming the main seller of the precious commodity in the world in January 2023. Interfax reports referring to the World Gold Council (WGC).
Turkey became the largest buyer stocking up its reserves by 23.3 tons. Then Kazakhstan - 14.9 tons and China - 3.9 tons. In total, the European Central Banks bought 30.8 tons of gold.
