Opponents of Bahodir Jalolov and Shokhjahon Abdullayev refused to take part in the final battle, thus making the two Uzbek boxers winners of gold medals before the end of the tournament, the Boxing Federation's press office informs.
In the final, Jalolov was supposed to fight against Armenian Davit Chaloyan, and Abdullayev against Vincenzo Lizzi (Italy).
Remarkably, that Chaloyan has become the third boxer to quit the ring before the bell rang against the current Olympic and the World champion Bahadir Jalolov. Kamshibek Kunkabayev (Kazakhstan) did not enter the ring in the quarter-finals, while Muhammad Abdullayev (Azerbaijan) refuced to face him in the semi-finals.
Also, two female boxers from Uzbekistan, Saidahon Rakhmonova and Khadichabonu Abdullayeva won silver and bronze medals respectively.
