On February 22, migrant workers from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan organized a mass protest in Moscow, the capital of Russia. The Senate's National Commission to Combat Human Trafficking and Forced Labor has reacted promptly to the situation and tried to assist Uzbeks abroad.
In 2022, the Foreign Labor Migration Agency and embassies and consular offices provided practical assistance in collecting wages and compensations of citizens in the amount of 1,199,700 US dollars from foreign employers.
