Otabek Tursinbekov, General Consul of Uzbekistan in Aktov, met with Serik Akhmetov, CEO of "Port Kurik" of Kazakhstan, "Dunyo" news agency reports.
Transportation of products produced in Uzbekistan through this port was discussed at the meeting.
Serik Akhmetov said that at the moment improvement of the infrastructure of the port is being discussed with foreign partners. In addition, it is planned to build a multifunctional sea terminal "Sarja" in the port. "These changes will significantly increase the port's capacity," - he added.
The expansion of the cargo capacity of the port is expected to activate the trade and economic relations of Uzbek entrepreneurs through the Trans-Caspian international route.
