At the end of January, the Deputy Secretary of State for Relations with Eastern Countries of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Adam Stifter and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev met to discuss the terms of acquisition of the Uzbek bank “Ipoteka bank” by OTP. Adam Stifter and Abat Fayzullaev underlined that thanks to this, investment and trade ties between the countries will only become stronger.
The Hungarian diplomat also noted that the upcoming opening of the Embassy of Uzbekistan would help strengthen relations between Budapest and Tashkent.
In addition, the meeting touched upon the holding of the first Uzbek-Hungarian interregional forum and joint consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and Uzbekistan.
