It is expected to grant permission for new public preschools on non-residential floors of multi-apartment buildings in Uzbekistan. This was given in the draft of the presidential decree on the implementation of the development strategy of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 in 2023.
From April 1, 2023, in order to expand the coverage of preschool education from the current 67% to 80%, the nurseries may start functioning on the non-residential floors of multi-apartment buildings or by purchasing individually built housing and conducting overhauls.
"To construct a 150-bed kindergarten, the government must spend approximately 6 billion soums. Yet, it is possible to organize a kindergarten for 25 children in one three-room apartment. The purchase and furnishing of 6 apartments for 150 children will require an average of 4 billion soums," the draft document said.
According to the draft, the restrictions on the mortgage of the building for bank loans to the private partner who built the building of the non-governmental preschool educational organization on the land plot leased within the framework of the public-private partnership project will be cancelled.
As a result, an additional opportunity will be created for 594 entrepreneurs who are serving to increase coverage with preschool education and need the necessary financial resources.
