The criminal group who managed to print and sell almost 500 million counterfeit soums in a number of regions of Uzbekistan was arrested.
The gang tried to sell fake 462.4 million soums in three regions of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Jizzakh region.
During the investigation, one of the detainees admitted that he bought fake 28 million soums for 18 million soums from a man living in the Payaryk district of the Samarkand region. Law enforcement officers detained a man in Samarkand following the third apprehension in Bukhara.
The law enforcement agents managed to catch three more "dealers" when they tried to sell 100 million fake soums for 30 million soums. They seized fake 336.4 million soums, four computers, five printers, three paper-cutting machines and 35 bottles of colourless varnish.
Earlier the forgers were caught in Angren while selling 1.5 million soums for 400,000 soums, and counterfeit 100,000 soum notes.
