Marshal of Afghanistan Abdul Rashid Dostum called for handing over the planes and helicopters flown by Afghan pilots to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to the Afghan resistance front. This was reported by Hasht-e Subh Daily.
The ethnic Uzbek, Marshal in exile, also spoke about resistance to the "Taliban" and called for the immediate mobilization of forces and preparation for mass attacks against the Taliban in 2024.
In August 2021, when the "Taliban" took over Kabul and then-President Ashraf Ghani left the country, Afghan soldiers fled to Uzbekistan by planes and helicopters. Ismatilla Ergashev, the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan on Afghanistan, stated that the aircraft would not be returned to the Taliban movement.
According to Ergashev, the US government paid for the aircraft and gave it to the former government of Afghanistan for temporary use. The politician said that he was at the border when the Afghan planes entered Uzbekistan. The official process would be decided according to the verdict of the Uzbek court, however, the USA had full authority to fly them away.
According to statistics, during the change of government in Afghanistan, more than 60 military helicopters of the previous government were transported to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
