Tashkent to receive $1 bln of investment for introduction of renewable energy sources

The Uzbek president instructed to bring and use of the advanced renewable energy generating system in the city of Tashkent during the meeting held on February 8. For that, the capital authorities should speed up:

- launching projects for the production of 400 million kilowatt-hours of electricity by installing solar panels in industrial zones;

- ensuring the production of 75 million kilowatt-hours of electricity by installing solar panels at public buildings;  

- construction of a large solar power plant with a capacity of 500 MW in the Yukorichirchik district;

- reduction of electricity losses by 1% and increase in energy efficiency by 3% at industrial enterprises of the capital;

-  overhaul of the internal heating system of 1817 multi-storey buildings;

- reconstruction of 300 km of main heating networks, reduction of losses by 5%.
