Acting Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov on February 2 received Ambassador of Pakistan Syed Ali Asad Gillani. The envoy of the world's fifth-most populous country is now completing his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
The Acting Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude for Ambassador's contribution to developing strategic partnerships and asked the envoy to convey his warmest regards to Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Ambassador expressed gratitude to Acting Foreign Minister for participation in Geneva's international conference on Pakistan, and also noted the positive outcomes of the 26th Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of Foreign Ministers.
Reportedly, the meeting emphasized the importance of the implementation of bilateral agreements and cooperation in the trade, economic, and investment spheres. Uzbekistan – Pakistan trade turnover surged by 131% in 2022, while the number of joint ventures reached 200.
