The “Elegant shoes and” enterprise in the Shakhrihan District is another vivid example of rapid entrepreneurship development in Uzbekistan. The entrepreneur started as a shoemaker and has been running a workshop in a small building for the last four years.
Last year, the entrepreneur expanded his business with his funds and created a new enterprise worth $8mn. A 4-story facility is equipped with installments manufactured in Turkey and China. The production of 60 varieties of footwear and leather products was launched with the involvement of Turkish designers and technologists. This helped create 500 additional jobs.
The enterprise is now focused on boosting its export potential by bringing sales to $4mn this year. The entrepreneur said that he’s striving to enter the European market.
‘The leather industry is also becoming a driver; the number of such enterprises is growing, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. ‘Now it is necessary to provide them with guaranteed raw materials. Secondly, it is important to provide orders to women who stay home. In general, with the proper support of such advanced enterprises, it is possible to turn them into a cluster’, the head of state stressed.
Responsible persons and scientific institutes were instructed to work out the issue of localization of imported materials.
The head of our state talked with women working at the enterprise.
‘Today, we arrived in Andijan to consider the issues of expanding entrepreneurship, creating sustainable energy sources, and increasing the population's income. When will your salary increase? When your products will sell well in the market. And this requires quality, knowledge, and skills. Therefore, we pay special attention to the professional training of our women'.
