Netherlands' 'IN ME' published an article entitled 'Corridor, which allows economic opportunities to take into account political realities,' that reflects on the railway route presented by Uzbekistan's Mission in Brussels, Dunyo reports.
Reportedly, a fair dedicated to the transport and logistics potential of the railway corridor of Uzbekistan for the Netherlands in November last year highlighted the republic's potential to develop into an important link between Europe and Asia.
The article notes that the event was organized on the occasion of the visit of the delegation of 'Oʻzbekiston temir yoʻllari' to the EU. Furthermore, the publication reads that this corresponds to October's meeting in Tashkent between President Shavkat Mirziyoev and President of the European Council Charles Michel.
During the conference in Tashkent, the road map was proposed from the Uzbek side for the implementation of joint projects in priority areas. It also refers to the creation of sustainable transport corridors as a critical factor for the study and enhancement of mutual trade for the further development of the Trans-Caspian multimodal route.
The leaders discussed the importance of expanding port capacity, improving and expanding maritime and rail connectivity, improving customs procedures, and further digitizing them. Implementation of the abovementioned fully corresponds to the goals and objectives of the EU's Global Gate initiative.
