In response to the new epidemic situation in China, the Chinese Embassy to Uzbekistan on Thursday (January 19) issued a statement explaining the latest temporary measures to prevent the coronavirus disease surge in the republic. The document stresses the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries.
‘Due to the large-scale vaccination of the population, and as a result of the mutation, coronavirus COVID-19 is becoming less pathogenic and brings less risk to human health despite the increase in infection rates. New circumstances have presented China with new challenges in combating the pandemic. Based on a comprehensive study of the virus mutation, the epidemic situation, and preventive work, the Chinese Government has optimized measures to prevent and control the epidemic since January 8, 2014. China has officially relaxed several anti-judgemental restrictions and introduced temporary entry and exit rules to/out of the country. The PCR test and the central quarantine on arrival have been lifted, business and training visas have been renewed, restrictions on international passenger flights have been lifted, cargo and passenger transport at border crossing points have been restored, and Overseas tourism for Chinese citizens. Thus, China has gradually shifted its focus from prevention and protection from infection to health care by preventing the disease from reaching its worst stage’, the message reads.
The Chinese Embassy to Uzbekistan states that the above measures have greatly benefited the world economy, which is going through a difficult recovery period and has received broad support from most countries worldwide.
‘Since the pandemic outbreak, China and Uzbekistan have provided assistance and support to each other. The parties transferred mutual humanitarian assistance, actively exchanged experience, and jointly developed and produced vaccines and preparations, a striking example of the joint construction of the ‘Healthy Silk Road.’ The Chinese side sincerely hopes that Uzbek friends will be able to take advantage of geographical proximity and close partnership, as well as opportunities in the light of the new anti-epidemic reality of China for the accelerated implementation of mutually beneficial joint projects in various spheres in the interests of promoting the socio-economic development of the two countries for the benefit of the two peoples’, the message concludes.
