Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov on Wednesday (January 18) received the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Central Asian republic Yusuf al-Otaibi to discuss multifaceted bilateral cooperation with a focus on the implementation of the agreements inked following the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Saudi Arabia in August 2022.
The two sides expressed their commitment to providing mutual support and strengthening trade and economic ties by implementing cooperation projects in the field of industry. Besides, the diplomats reflected on certain aspects of regional policy.
A schedule of upcoming events and visits has been agreed upon, including the participation of Uzbekistan at the Islamic Arts Biennale that will be held under the theme of Awwal Bayt (First House) from Monday, January 23 to Sunday, April 23, 2023. The event aims to showcase the art and creativity of Islamic culture and highlight a mix of traditions and modernity. Reportedly, Uzbekistan is set to showcase 17 exhibits reflecting the Central Asian country’s cultural heritage.
