The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis considered the "Amendment to Article 15 of the Law on Consumer Credit in connection with the improvement of the financial consumer credit system" that envisions the newly proposed mechanism of using consumer loans. It was reported that with the draft law, the consumer loan may be expanded in order to further develop business and create additional conveniences for consumers by using consumer credit for goods (services) not produced in Uzbekistan.
The session acknowledged that the demand for consumer loans has been increasing recently, but the current law restricts the granting of consumer loans to goods (services) that are not produced in Uzbekistan. This has led to the violation of the rights and interests of consumers, along with reducing the opportunity of the population to choose the products they buy on credit.
According to reports, the draft law "On Consumer Credit" provides for the possibility of granting financial consumer loans for goods (services) sold by individuals and legal entities, as well as goods (services) produced outside Uzbekistan. making catchy changes.
The draft law was adopted by the parliamentarians.
