The state of readiness to start studies of all higher education institutions, technical schools and academic lyceums in Uzbekistan is being revised. This was reported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
On January 16, two people were killed when the boiler system in the academic lyceum building of Termiz State University had exploded. The ministry expressed its condolences to the relatives, family members and colleagues of the deceased.
The ministry and the university pledged to help the family members of the deceased and one university employee who was injured.
"In order to prevent further tragic incidents, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation has initiated the technical safety revision of all professional educational institutions, academic lyceums, and student accommodation," the ministry said.
At the moment, a working group consisting of deputy ministers, heads of departments and departments is conducting the inspection of the facilities of universities, technical schools and academic lyceums across the country.
