In December last year, Uzbekistan detected cases of illegal use of electricity worth 15.7bn UZS, or equivalent to monthly consumption of over 177,000 households, the country’s Ministry of Energy has reported.
Unauthorised use of 35.5mn kWh of electric power was detected in 719 cases by the special working group of the Ministry, causing the system damage totaling 15.7bn UZS. This quantity is equivalent 1-week electricity consumption of consumers of the Syrdarya region.
The lion’s share of unauthorized electric power use has been detected in the Andijan, Kashkadarya, Samarkand and Tashkent regions.
Particularly, recalculation works in the amount of 2.3bn UZS were carried out at the Maroqand sifat tekstil LLC in the Samarkand region, 1.4bn UZS at the Spring Kolours Industriy LLC in the Tashkent region, 684.17 mn UZS at the F.X.S. LLC in Andijan.
