At a briefing held on December 29 Sevara Ubaidullayeva, the head of the Department of Motherhood and Child Protection of the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan gave some recommendations to those who had had an intake of Dok-1 Max syrup.
She said that if the drug was taken 10 days ago and the patient did not have any symptoms, it was not a very alarming situation. However, it is necessary to contact a doctor, the scientific centre and departments of the Republican emergency medical care.
"At this point, we inform you that a toxic substance has been detected in several batches of Dok-1 Max and similar anti-cold syrups that have entered our country. Until now, in medicine, these drugs were recommended only when there was a prescription from the doctor, based on the age, weight and other indicators of children, and effective results were obtained.
Another important issue: after the confirmation of the poisonous substance in the syrup "Dok-1 Max", the sale of this medicine was prohibited in all pharmacies of our country, and they were withdrawn from sale.
It is a pity that some pharmacies are still trying to sell this syrup. For this reason, if there is a situation related to the sale of "Dok-1 Max" syrup in pharmacies, we ask you to call the phone number +99899 807-66-60 of the Headquarters operating under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan ", the expert noted.
