The State Security Service has filed a criminal case regarding the situation related to the drug "Dok-1 Max" which is produced by the Indian company “Marion Biotech Pvt. Ltd. and imported by "Kuramax Medical" to Uzbekistan.
Allegedly, the drug was improperly used as an anti-cold remedy for children at home without a doctor's prescription, by parents independently or on the recommendation of pharmacists.
According to the laboratory studies of the Ministry of Health, the substance ethylene glycol contained in "Dok-1 Max" syrup causes serious negative changes in the patient's health.
According to the reports of the State Center for Expertise and Standardization of Medicines, Medical Devices and Medical Equipment of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Network, "Dok-1 Max" syrup does not meet the requirements specified in the regulatory document.
Currently, the State Security Service of Uzbekistan has lodged a criminal case against officials of "Kuramax Medical" LLC and "Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines" LLC under Article 186-3, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, and the suspects have been detained.
