The cases of swine flu that have been sporadically reported in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, as well as in Russia, have caused a natural concern in Uzbekistan too. Daryo received comments from the director of the Veterinary Scientific Research Institute, Bozorboy Elmurodov, about what is being done to prevent this disease from entering Uzbekistan.
"We have enough resources to detect and prevent this disease in the border or buffer zones of Uzbekistan. Our institute has 17 modern laboratories to quickly identify similar infections. The State Committee for Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Development has provided a sufficient supply of drugs and vaccines to combat swine flu in animals," Bozorboy Elmurodov said.
Swine flu was not recorded in Uzbekistan
The sanitary-epidemiological peace and public health service confirmed that no swine flu was recorded in Uzbekistan this year. The service gave an explanation regarding the work being done to prevent this disease:
In order to suspect swine flu, together with symptoms, it is necessary to take into account that the patient has been in areas where the disease is spread and has been in contact with people suffering from this disease for at least 7 days before the onset of the disease.
Differences from common flu: The typical clinical presentation of swine flu infection in humans is similar to seasonal flu and other acute upper respiratory tract infections, with fever and signs of inflammation in the respiratory system. symptoms such as cough, angina, pharyngitis, and runny nose. In some cases, symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea may occur. Humans usually catch swine flu from infected pigs, and human-to-human transmission has been observed in some cases, but this is limited to people and groups of people who have had close contact with sick people.
