A bus with pilgrims from Uzbekistan got into a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia on December 27. Ten people have been injured, media reports citing the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The traffic accident occurred on the Jeddah-Medina highway. Presumably, the driver fell asleep while driving.
Of the 50 pilgrims on the bus, 10 were injured and received emergency medical treatment at ‘Wadi al-Far’ and ‘al-Khimna’ hospitals near Medina. Forty pilgrims were accommodated in a hotel in Medina.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan is monitoring the situation in Jeddah, which communicates with local law enforcement agencies and medical institutions. Diplomats are in constant contact with citizens.
