Vladimir Norov took part in a fundraising event in Washington, USA, to support the Aral Bay region, the press service of the MFA reports.
Project C.U.R.E. was jointly organized with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), American Vector Medical Group (a supplier of medical equipment), Bollore (aviation logistics), Boeing Company (aviation, space and military equipment), Rotary International (a charitable organization), representatives of such companies as Winn-Marion Companies (a technology company), members of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, and the media.
According to the participants, the restoration of the Aral Sea ecosystem and the rational use of water resources will contribute to the sustainable development of Central Asia and environmental protection.
Vladimir Norov discussed with the head of Project C.U.R.E. Douglas Jackson the shipment of humanitarian aid to Uzbekistan in readiness to continue attracting donors from the USA to support efforts to improve the situation in the Aral Bay region.
"Our fundraising volunteers are continuing to raise funds to deliver the next humanitarian aid containers," said Douglas Jackson.
Project C.U.R.E. at the end of the negotiations with the head of Uzbekistan, it was agreed to send a container worth 1.5 million dollars with medical supplies for the needs of Uzbekistan.
