Uzbekistan has formed the list of 50 foreign TV channels that were previously allowed to be aired in the republic, making up 192 TV channels in total.
An updated list includes 35 channels specializing in socio-political issues and news, 37 movie and TV soap opera channels, and 34 popular scientific and educational channels, such as the National Geographic Channel. There are also 27 channels aimed at teenagers, 20 specialized in covering sports topics, and 39 foreign channels distributing music and entertainment content.
The TV channels are broadcast via the networks of pay-TV operators and providers (that is, over the air in closed mode, cable and IP television, mobile communication, satellite communication networks, and Internet platforms). The distribution of foreign TV channels in Uzbekistan is carried out in accordance with the requirements of national legislation and international legal norms regulating the field of copyright and related rights.
