Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature Professor Nurbay Jabbarov has delivered a lecture on 'The Role of Libraries in the Formation of Literary, Cultural and Scientific Relations of Turkish States for the professors and teachers, young researchers, and students' of the Faculty of Library and Information Science of Baku State University (BSU).
In his welcoming speech, Professor Nurbay Jabbarov stated that the people of Uzbekistan have always shown great interest in Azerbaijani literature, culture, and science, and the bilateral relations have reached the highest level thanks to the Presidents of the two countries Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Professor drew particular attention to measures taken in a bid to strengthen scientific relations in recent years, as well as the cooperation agreements between BSU and Uzbek national universities, stressing the exceptional role of libraries in the development of cultural and scientific relations of the Turkish states and the protection of the national heritage of the Turkish people. It was stated that the Turkish people, who have made important contributions to the world's cultural heritage in the field of book and library culture are successfully continuing that mission even today.
Besides, the lecturer highly valued the activity of TURKSOY, an international organization for the development of Turkish culture and art in this field. He especially emphasized the relations between the national libraries of the Turkish states.
The lecture also presented detailed information about libraries operating in Uzbekistan, their history, modern work methods, and funds.
