Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov on Monday (December 5) received the newly Appointed Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of Japan Takashi Hatori who presented his copies of credentials to the head of the governmental department.
The FM congratulated the top diplomat and wished him success in his professional activities. The parties reflected on Uzbek-Japanese relations and multifaceted cooperation. Besides, they noted that the official visit of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in December 2019 to maintain a high level of trust and mutual understanding as well as to create the necessary mechanisms to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas.
During the conversation, issues of further development of the Uzbek-Japanese relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation were discussed. The necessity of taking effective measures to accelerate the practical implementation of all agreements reached the highest level was emphasized. The schedule and organizational aspects of the upcoming joint events, including the 'Central Asia plus Japan' dialogue were considered.
The parties expressed interest in building up trade and economic relations and intensifying contacts between the business circles of the two countries. An agreement was reached to continue cooperation within the framework of international organizations. During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on certain international and regional issues.
