Photographs of electricians overwhelming social media networks were recently recognized as pictures of the day.
The Daryo correspondents in the Kashkadarya and Fergana regions spoke with professionals who perform the most difficult work in the field of electricity supply.
‘If there is a problem with the pylons near someone’s house, we quickly go to the specified address, or we participate in the process of installing the pylons and wiring them when the areas are being electrified’, one of the electricians said to the Daryo correspondent, emphasizing that he fell in love with this profession from a quite young age.
‘Many people ask me whether I am afraid of heights, or whether I get dizzy while climbing the mountain. Both for me and my colleagues, it has become a usual thing to do. We are used to it', the electrician says.
A young man working in the Kashkadarya region says he makes up from 1.5 to 2mn UZS a month and feels blessed for the wages he earns.
Azizjon Ermatov, the correspondent of ‘Daryo’ in the Fergana region, while observing the work process of electrical fitters, encountered the installation of concrete blocks and the laying of electric wires.
‘Another convenient aspect of being a fitter is that we help not only our family, relatives, and neighbors solve electrical problems. Their words of gratitude make me feel my passion for this profession even stronger', one of the electricians working in the Fergana region said.
Many of the electrician respondents working in a variety of settings acknowledge they may become exposed to several hazards, but still feel unconditional love for what they do.
‘It's true... Sometimes we hear the sad news that one of our colleagues died as a result of an electric shock. At such times, we try to be more vigilant, take into account the danger of our profession, and better adhere to safety rules and regulations. But there is no way to escape. Despite this all, I love my profession, - the respondent noted.
‘We work on 15-meter poles without mentioning that hot is hot and cold is cold, but on the same day, when the power goes out, people blame and curse us’, one of the electricians said.
