The two-day festival of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan friendship has kicked off in Dashoguz. The opening ceremony was held in Turkmen White Yurt, a facility for mass events of national and international scale. The first-day event saw the representatives of art, public organizations, and enterprises solemnly greeted with bread and salt. As part of the festival, the guests could visit the exhibition of decorative and applied art organized in the foyer of the White Yurt.
In his congratulatory address, Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedow emphasized that the paths of friendship and good neighborliness of the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples are linked from ancient times to the present day. Moreover, the similarity of the cultures and languages of the fraternal peoples of the two neighboring countries, traditions, and rites brings them even closer.
‘This important forum, aimed at the further strengthening of genuinely kindred and good-neighborly relations, once again demonstrates the wholeness and commonality of our peoples' noble goals and aspirations,’ Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed. The message noted that the historic visit to Tashkent by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, in July this year gave new impetus and dynamics to the further deepening the strategic partnership between the two states.
