During the Uzbek-French business forum held in Paris, the president of the Total Energies group of companies, Patrick Jean Puane, shared his views on recent reforms in Uzbekistan.
"First of all, we are pleased that Mr President Mirziyoyev will be visiting France again. Of course, this visit will contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.
I was in Uzbekistan in 2017. As an investor, I can say that Uzbekistan is a country open. This will serve to start big projects, of course.
In my opinion, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation with companies that can bring innovations in energy creation, like ours. I think that the production of solar batteries based on modern technologies in Uzbekistan allows for the development of innovations, as well as for our Uzbek partners to produce more projects and enter the market.
There is every opportunity to implement this project and cooperation in energy creation will further develop.
First of all, French businessmen should go to Uzbekistan. It is necessary to get to know the people and conditions of a very beautiful country and share their experiences with our Uzbek partners.
Of course, investors should be able to go to that country and discover it for themselves.
I hope to go to your country again like in 2017 and discover more opportunities. For the first time, we invested in 20 megawatt energy sources. Now your country's opportunity has expanded even more. I hope that we will be able to increase this amount to 1 gigawatt," Patrick Jean Puane said.
