Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposes to establish UNESCO regional centre in Tashkent

Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposes to establish UNESCO regional centre in Tashkent

Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward a number of proposals the along with the establishment of a UNESCO regional centre in Tashkent at the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education (WCECCE), Daryo correspondent reports.

The president said that representatives from 150 countries of the world attended the conference, which is a clear indication that the development of preschool education is of global importance today.

"I am confident that this conference will create new opportunities for further expansion of international cooperation to define policies related to preschool education until 2030 in the world and provide quality education. Based on this, we consider it appropriate to put forward the following important proposals," the head of state continued.

“First, it is very important to effectively solve the problems of quality education at the global level, to develop joint rapid solutions and systematic approaches. For that, we suggest that it is vital to hold the international conference regularly.

Secondly, I believe that you will approve our initiative to establish a UNESCO regional centre in Tashkent in order to systematically coordinate all our efforts on education in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

I also propose to conduct joint projects and research with the World Organization for Early Childhood Education, to develop a comprehensive program for the preparation of new methods of education and methodical manuals.

At the same time, we will put forward the initiative of establishing an international community of educators in order to exchange best practices, modern interactive teaching methods, practical knowledge and skills in this direction.

Thirdly, as one of the main topics in the general agenda of the future summit held by the UN in 2024, it is important to include the issue of raising and educating young children and to dedicate a separate session to it.

According to the results of today's conference, it would be appropriate to adopt a special resolution of the UN General Assembly that children's education is an important factor in achieving universal development.

In this document, issues such as increasing the role of parents in ensuring children's quality education and upbringing, spiritual and physical maturity, and their responsibility to fully demonstrate their abilities and potentials should be expressed,”.Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
