The fastest-growing region was Samarkand which registered 10,272 newborns. The smallest number of newborns was recorded in the Syrdarya region, with 1,990 children.
According to Worldometers, the current population of Uzbekistan is over 34.6mn. Macrotrend reports that Samarkand's current metro area population is 603,000, a 2.03% increase from 2021, while the metro area population of Tashkent in 2022 is over 2.5mn, a 1.14% increase from 2021.
