6.2 million tree saplings, which were not actually planted, were added to the reports as "planted” within the framework of the "Yashil Makon" program. This was announced at the meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis related to the project.
Without a systematic organization of tree planting, appropriate officials for irrigation and maintenance recorded 6.2 million unplanted seedlings as planted, and 3.4 million were planted in areas without any irrigation systems.
Also, 2.4 million seedlings died before the end of spring due to lack of water and insufficient care. 341,000 seedlings were planted on unusable land without taking into account the natural climatic features of the land.
The officials are tasked with planting 75 million fruit and ornamental seedlings by the end of 2022 and another 125 million fruit and ornamental seedlings in the spring of 2023 within the framework of "Yashil Makon” program.
