More than 18,000 standards will be changed from mandatory to optional in Uzbekistan with the adoption of the Law "On Standardization" was given at the briefing held in AOKA with the participation of Abdurauf Rasulov, the head of the information service of the Technical Regulatory Agency.
The new law consists of 31 articles aimed at coordinating relations in the field of standardization and providing a number of reliefs to manufacturers. At the same time, the procedure for applying international, regional and foreign standards in Uzbekistan is being introduced.
The practice of carrying out work on standardization separately in different departments is being abolished. Processes such as making decisions on standards examination, approval, registration, and renewal are given to the Institute of Standards of Uzbekistan.
