More than 300 manuscripts related to the history and culture of Uzbekistan were found in the National Library of Finland’s resource, Dunyo news agency reports.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Finland, Qadamboy Sultanov, announced the finding at the meeting with the professors of Uzbekistan State University of World Languages and Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, a well-known expert in the field of manuscript research.
Gulnoz Hallieva travelled to Finland from August 1 to 26 and conducted research on the identification of relevant manuscripts within the grant project of the Ministry of Innovative Development "Creation of the database of Turkish manuscripts stored in European funds, which are not available in Uzbekistan and the electronic platform "Yevroturcologica.uz".
As a result of the research, the Uzbek scientist could detect more than 300 manuscripts related to the ancient history and culture of Uzbekistan. 11 of them consist of handwritten copies of Sufi dictionaries, descriptions of the properties of useful herbs, and other valuable materials, which are unique in Uzbekistan.
According to Hallieva, one of the most valuable findings relates to the history of ancient Khorezm and is the work "Firdavs ul-Iqbal" written by Munis and Ogahiy. According to the sources, 9 manuscripts of this work are known, and the copy preserved in Finland consists of 1812 pages.
The parties agreed to organize an Uzbekistan-Finland seminar dedicated to the identification of previously unknown manuscripts and other sources related to the ancient history, traditions and culture of Uzbekistan, as well as to cooperate on the publication of a number of thematic materials.
