Huawei, a Chinese multinational technology corporation has transferred some of its employees from Russia to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Forbes.ru informs with reference to "Vedemost".
The Chinese company has already started relocating its Russian staff to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the spring of 2022 including some top executives of the Chinese tech giant.
Some Russian managers are also sent on long business trips. According to Denis Kuskov, CEO of the Telecom Daily analytical agency, they are expected to move mainly to Kazakhstan.
The company continued moving its employees in July-August, prioritizing Kazakhstan among all the CIS countries. This market is the largest and most promising for Huawei in the region, - said Kuskov.
According to the expert, the employees transferred to Kazakhstan will be responsible for the development of the company's business not only in this country but also in all CIS countries.
Huawei has not made an official statement about continuing or leaving Russia yet.
In early August, the Chinese company announced the suspension of sales on its Vmall marketplace but promised to ship orders to customers and maintain warranty service for purchases already made.
Globally, Huawei's net profit for the first half of 2022 fell 52 % to 15.1 billion yuan ($2.2 billion).
In the spring, a number of large retailers, and manufacturers of smartphones and other telecommunications equipment announced that they would stop their activities in Russia or withdraw from the Russian market amid the war conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
