On August 30, Malika Kadirkhanova, the chairperson of the Women's and Gender Equality Committee of the Oliy Majlis Senate, met with Christine Borganen, the Director of Planning of the Department of Women's Affairs of the US State Department, who visited Uzbekistan.
The top official ladies touched upon the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan that ensure gender equality, women's rights and interests, and increase their socio-economic and political activity.
Kristin Borganen highly appreciated the work being done to ensure gender equality in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties reached a mutual agreement on the implementation of projects aimed at increasing the socio-political activity of women and ensuring the economic rights and opportunities of women in the future.
