On August 23, a special commission on the July unrest in Karakalpakstan conducted an anonymous survey upon the appeals from the locals to find out more about their conditions, the information service of the human rights representative of the Oliy Majlis reports.
The majority complained about the cases of being in the centre of attention of foreign rights protection organizations and their names being mentioned in some false news.
During the conversation with the family members of the persons who were suspected of taking part in the events that took place in Karakalpakstan, they mentioned the lack of social assistance. As a result, according to the commission's recommendation, the Ministry of Neighborhood and Religious Support delivered primary food products to these needy families.
The survey has covered the reasons behind the protests, the measures taken by law enforcement agencies, the quality of medical care provided to the injured, cases of torture and violence.
