The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has alarmed about the non-performing loans (NPL) that hit 16.9 trillion soums as of August 1, 2022.
According to the Money regulator, the total loan portfolio of banks has reached 346.4 trillion soums which is 2.8 trillion soums more than last month.
The amount of total non-performing loans (NPL) in banks increased by almost 250 billion soums reaching 16.9 trillion soums which is 4.9 % of the total loan portfolio.
The National "Khalq Bank" (People's bank) continues to lead the list with 3.5 trillion soums of NPL.
"Turkiston Bank" has the highest percentage of non-performing loans that makes up 94.5 % of its all loans.
