On August 19, 2022, Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met Vikram Misri, Deputy National Security Adviser of the Prime Minister of India, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Misri underscored its country’s full support of large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, and readiness to activate cooperation within the "India + Central Asia" framework.
The adviser welcomed Uzbekistan's active steps in providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and implementing infrastructure, transport and energy projects to restore the country's economy.
The Indian delegation stated that it is ready to provide comprehensive assistance in implementing the priorities of Uzbekistan's SCO presidency.
