On August 1, 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Norov received the sixth OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Kairat Abdurakhmanov.
The parties noted that Uzbekistan's cooperation with the OSCE and its institutions has significantly improved and reached a new level in terms of quality.
The High Commissioner highly appreciated the policy of ensuring interethnic harmony and tolerance in our country and expanding cultural and educational relations with foreign countries. The foreign official emphasized Uzbekistan's good neighbourly policy in Central Asia that plays a positive role in strengthening friendship and mutual solidarity between the peoples of the region.
Abdurakhmanov also underscored that Uzbekistan has created all the necessary conditions for representatives of all nationalities and peoples to learn, work, and show their creative abilities and potential. He welcomed the fact that the strengthening of the atmosphere of inter-ethnic harmony and religious tolerance in the society was set as one of the priority goals of the implementation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026.
