The news about the public fund for teachers’ uniforms in the capital's schools by the mayor’s decision has sparked hot debates among netizens.
To clarify the situation, the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan released an official response in connection with the document.
The reports say that there is no uniform defined and approved for school teachers at the national level.
According to the order of the Ministry of Public Education of May 28, 2020 "On approval of the internal order and etiquette of the general secondary education institution" No. 131, teachers must comply with the requirements of the dress code set at the school level.
“It is appropriate for the teacher to set an example for the youth not only with his knowledge and morals, but also with the culture of dressing. That is, the fact that teachers are dressed in their professional clothes will certainly increase students' respect for their teacher's personality and profession.
The Ministry of Public Education expresses its support for the Tashkent mayor’s initiative and is grateful for this concern. We also call on the governors of other regions to be active in supporting teachers” the message says.
