Presidential decree "On further strengthening of public health protection in the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2022-2024" will intensify the reforms in the health care system, "Nigoh" channel on Telegram reports.
The document stipulates to construct:
- 120-bed Children's Medical Rehabilitation Center for children with chronic diseases and disabilities;
- 80-bed Children's phthisiatric sanatorium;
- 20-bed surgical department within the Nukus City Medical Association;
- Nukus branch of the Republican Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Specialized Surgery named after academician V. Vahidov based on the surgical department of the multidisciplinary medical center of the Republic of Karakalpakstan;
- 20-bed palliative care department (hospice) for terminally ill patients within the available places within the Nukus City Medical Association.
The position of deputy minister of health for medical services in the Aral Sea region has been introduced.
