The head of the customs at the Fergana International airport has been arrested for carrying out customs control contrary to the established order. This was reported by the DXX press service.
The acting head of the customs of the Fergana Airport, his employee and a local resident engaged in illegal activity by registering countless amounts of arriving baggage in the name of passengers who were not the true owners of the items.
The Fergana Region Department of the State Customs Service detected goods worth 276.6 million soums that were initially registered and brought in the name of 4 passengers who flew from Moscow on the Domodedovo-Fergana route. However, the real owners of the luggage were 2 local people along with the other trader from the city of Fergana who were all later detained.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the employee of the Fergana International Airport carried out illegitimate clearance according to the instructions of his boss.
