The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a new department that will further strengthen cooperation with international organizations in the fields of culture, science and education, health care, sports and tourism humanitarian relations, the press service of the ministry reports.
The new department will ensure Uzbekistan's active position in the global dialogue of civilizations and strengthen the image of the country's development. It enables to find the national cultural and scientific heritage of Uzbekistan kept in world museums, archives and collections, including obtaining duplicates of the originals conduct study programs on Uzbek language, culture, history, and literature.
From July 1, 2022, Anvar Abduhalimov, minister’s adviser on improving the effectiveness of spiritual and educational work, and ensuring compliance with laws on the state language, will concurrently oversee the department’s activity.
On April 27, former Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Komilov, was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan for foreign policy and security issues, and Vladimir Norov assumes his position as an acting foreign minister.
