Uzaviatsiya, the Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Transport has rejected news about a new Panorama Airways airline company established in Uzbekistan.
"The reports in the mass media about the establishment of a new Panorama Airways airline in Uzbekistan and the fact that it will soon start flights with Airbus-320 and Boeing-777 planes are not true," the Uzaviatsiya agency reported.
Airline status can only be obtained after obtaining an aircraft operator's certificate under the Article 44 of the Air Code (issuance of an operator's certificate) and the Cabinet of Ministers' "Procedure for issuing an aircraft operator's certificate in the civil aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan” ordinance.
“The Aviation agency has not received any document connected to Panorama Airways for obtaining an aircraft operator's certificate. Thus, the reports published in the mass media about the establishment of such an airline in Uzbekistan are not true,” the message states.
In September 2019, the private company Qanot Sharq Airlines signed a contract (referring to the supply agreement) for Superjet aircraft. The airline also planned to lease three Superjet 100 aircraft from Russia's Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SSAC).
